What we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.
Not yet reviewed by counsel
If you request a demo: your email address, and your name, who you are and a note if you give them. If you hold a trip: your name, email, phone and the itinerary you built. If you enquire as an operator: your business name, email, and your name, category and town if you give them.
If you ask to see the demo: your name, email, what describes you (traveller, local business, tourism organisation, press, investor or something else), your organisation if you give one, and any note. We use it only to answer your request; it is not a mailing list. We keep it until the demo closes, and delete it sooner if you ask at hello@havaro.ca.
Trips you plan and hold are currently stored in your own browser, not on our servers. That means they will not follow you to another device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
We use it to do the thing you asked for and nothing else: reply to you, pass your name and number to the operators on your itinerary at launch so they know who to expect, and email you when booking opens if you asked us to.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass your details to operators for their own marketing.
We only email or text you where you have given express consent, and we keep a record of when and how you gave it. Every message identifies us and carries a working unsubscribe, actioned within ten business days. Using this site or making an enquiry is not by itself consent to marketing.
We count which pages are looked at and which buttons and links are clicked, on our own server. There is no advertising pixel and no cookie for this. Our hosting provider can also count page views for us; when that is on, it too works without a cookie or any identifier for you.
Events are grouped by a random value your browser creates and keeps only for that tab. It is deleted when you close the tab, it does not follow you to another tab or device, and it is not connected to your name, your account or your booking.
We do not record your IP address, your browser identification string, the full address of the page that sent you here, anything typed into a search or planner box, or who was signed in. We keep the referring website’s name only, and whether the screen was phone, tablet or desktop sized.
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing about your visit is recorded at all.
Measurement records, and the wording of anything typed into the trip planner, are deleted automatically after 90 days.
We comply with Canadian private-sector privacy law, including PIPEDA where it applies. Our privacy officer is James Wilson, founder, reachable at hello@havaro.ca. We limit what we collect to stated purposes, control internal access, and bind our payment, hosting, analytics and support vendors to equivalent obligations.
We will maintain a breach-response process, keep records of any breach of our security safeguards for two years, report a breach creating a real risk of significant harm to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and notify affected people as soon as feasible.
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@havaro.ca.
